A large hay bale fell on 3-year-old Lincoln Nathan Johns at a farm on Davis Lane in Taylor Township on July 1, according to a Pennsylvania State Police on Thursday.
Troopers from McConnellsburg were called to Fulton County Medical Center at 10:57 a.m. They were informed the boy had died due to life-threatening injuries caused by the falling hay bale.
Lincoln's death has been ruled an accident caused by "multiple systems or organs failuring due to blunt force trauma caused by a crushing injury," the Fulton County Coroner’s office told Daily Voice on Friday.
Lincoln was born in Chambersburg to Nathan Andrew Johns and Jena Marie (Talalai) Johns on Thursday, July 4, 2019, according to his obituary.
He loved spending time with his family, building things, riding his dirt bike, riding the roller coasters at Hershey Park, bright colors, his tablet, and trying new foods, as detailed in his obituary.
He is survived by his parents, Nathan Andrew Johns (partner Emily Nelson), and Jena Marie (Talalai) Johns (fiancé, William Curtis); brother, Colson; three sisters: Leanna, Harper, and Ada; maternal grandparents, James and Terri Talalai of Mechanicsburg; paternal grandparents, Jason and Karen Johns of Mercersburg; and great grandparents: Harold Johns, Barbara Talalai, Jane Cooper, and Debra Stinson, as explained in his obituary.
His viewing and funeral were held at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, with Celebrant George Spangler officiating on Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was interred in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
"Lincoln was the happiest child and was always excited to see people. His little face would light up when people entered his view and he greeted them with a huge smile and a warm hug(...) Lincoln is in heaven now, with his family, giving out great big squishy hugs and smiling down on those left behind, until they meet again. Lincoln will be held tightly in the hearts and memories of those who were blessed enough to know and love him," his family stated in his obituary.
